Rant alert! Rant alert! First bulk of the rant is from my canon issues journal. The rest are my thoughts on the matter, once again.

Felt that since I've made a bold move of opinion with that stamp I made, I felt I would address an issue I have regarding "canon". Full of irritation, maybe a self-contradiction or two? Whatever, time for me to speak my mind and make a fool of myself again.

There are some "official" story plots and such that I agree with, some that I don't. But whatever I feel, I'll never be bold to say that's the only way it happened.

Like, I love the idea of Mario and Peach together. It's so obvious in the games. But I won't say they're really in love. Hell, it could be a good friendship...a REALLY good friendship. Maybe Mario feels obliged to protect Peach for some unknown reason he harbors, and sees Peach as a friend/damsel.

Nothing in Zelda is "canon" at all. Anybody could make an elaborate, crazy, or simple theory for it, and it cannot be proved or disproved in anyway. Just because it's what we saw in-game doesn't mean it's the way it "happened". It's not the only way, it's just one way we saw.

Especially FE games. I think a few have set endings...like Micaiah/Sothe. >> It may happen in-game, but it's probably not how it turned out in that world. You haven't been there, you haven't seen it happen, so you cannot say that's how it happened, just as I cannot say that didn't happen that way. You don't know, I don't know, so stop saying things are official.

Bottom line is, I think it's wrong to say that "canon" is the only way it happened. The way I see games and such, it's just a story being told in a certain POV. Much like history can be true or false, I see the same with games/manga/books. Interpret it however you like, be narrow and stick to only what you see, be narrow and stick to what you like, it shouldn't matter. "Canon" doesn't exist.

I especially get annoyed when people get annoyed at slash. Strangely, they NEVER get annoyed at hetero slash. You know, nasty pairs that pair a guy and a girl that have no chance of getting together in "canon". Just like the slash and femslash will apparently "never happen", those special hetero pairs that are crack are more sensibel, right? Please. DX

Hetero crack pairs that no-one seems to complain about: Zelda/Marth, Samus/Snake, Zuko/Katara, Sakura/Everyone in Akatsuki, Sasuke/with any girl...Zelda/Roy. :\

Why complain about slash, yet never bother the hetero crack? Huh?

Everything about this stamp is a self-contradiction, but at least it gets a point across. "Canon" is not real, so people will interpret characters they love however they like. People will pretend Zelda and Marth have a thing for each other. I will pretend that it's young Link and Marth who have a thing for each other. Two people who never so much as TALK to each other can live happily ever after for someone else.

To "change" a character for one's own enjoyment is not a disrespectful act. Get over crack, be it slash or hetero slash. Seriously. D:
